Jesus does not come in the thunder and the lightning;
nor does he come in the wild wind.
He comes in the gentle breeze of the evening.
The Spirit blows so quietly over our earth.
If we are not attentive,
we run the risk of not recognizing the presence of God
manifested in our lives.
For he is a gentle God,
a tender, loving God,
coming to give life so quietly,
far from the world of pride and cleverness,
far from the pedestals of power and administration,
far from the self satisfaction, defence mechanisms
and security of the self-sufficient.
He is hidden in the cave of our being.
nor does he come in the wild wind.
He comes in the gentle breeze of the evening.
The Spirit blows so quietly over our earth.
If we are not attentive,
we run the risk of not recognizing the presence of God
manifested in our lives.
For he is a gentle God,
a tender, loving God,
coming to give life so quietly,
far from the world of pride and cleverness,
far from the pedestals of power and administration,
far from the self satisfaction, defence mechanisms
and security of the self-sufficient.
He is hidden in the cave of our being.
